Severn Trent bosses have revealed why tankers are blocking part of Nuneaton’s Asda car park again.
In what is the second time in just a matter of weeks, large tankers have today (December 28) taken over part of the car park at the Newtown Road-based superstore.
It has left shoppers unable to access part of the busy car park.
CoventryLive contacted Severn Trent and a spokesman explained that they are needed to take away excess waste water while works are undertaken at nearby St Mary’s Road.
The Asda car park gives the engineers both crucial access and has enough space for the tankering to happen.
The company’s spokesman said: ‘We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by our tankers in the Nuneaton.
“We’re currently working in the area and our tankers are supporting that work by taking away the waste water following the recent heavy rain, meaning the network can operate as normal while we work.
“Again, we’re sorry if this causes any disruption but it will be our priority to have everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
