New figures have revealed which postcodes in Coventry saw the biggest increases in house prices this year, and which areas’ property prices drastically fell.

Figures from the Land Registry for the year to October show the median price in CV7 was £292,500.

Property prices in this area rose a staggering 19.4 per cent from £245,000 in the year to October 2020 which is the biggest rise for postcodes covering Coventry and Warwickshire.

Houses in CV7 were also found to be the most expensive in Coventry.

In CV1, prices were the same in the year to October 2021 as a year before at an average of £150,000, and houses in this postcode were the cheapest in the city.

Changes in price may be due to more demand pushing up prices or a changing type of property being sold in the area, particularly if new homes have been built.

In the UK, the most expensive postcode in England and Wales last year was W1K, or Mayfair, where the average price, based on 69 sales, was £4.22 million.

This area saw a 15.8 per cent increase from £3.65 million in the year to October 2020.

While the least expensive postcode in the country was DL17, between Darlington and Durham, where the average house price was £50,750, based on 316 sales.
