Santa, Rudolph and one of his helpers were out and about this week surprising dozens of families as they delivered early Christmas gifts to 500 children across the city.

Cornerstone Partnership – a Social Enterprise providing social housing across Coventry,  and Keystone Foundation – a charity who provide support and financial aid to those experiencing poverty, have been working together on ‘Project Santa’ to give presents to the 500 children living in Cornerstone properties across the city.

Cllr David Welsh, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing described it as a perfect example of partnership working. He joined Dean Starr and Gavin Mullaley earlier this week to deliver some of the presents.

Last year Cllr Welsh visited another Project Santa, where Cornerstone fully decorated, furnished and provided Christmas gifts for a family moving into one of their social rented homes ready for Christmas!

Dean Starr – Co-founder of Cornerstone Partnership said: “Our partnership with the Council is crucial to ensure that we can not only provide good quality homes, but also try and make a difference to the residents and the Coventry community.

“We really appreciate Cllr Welsh’s support in Project Santa and helping to deliver presents to the families we house.”

Cllr Welsh added:  “This is a great example of how partnership work in Coventry is providing good quality housing and changing lives.”
