Supermarket chain Aldi has rolled out a brand new click and collect service – with several stores across Coventry and Warwickshire offering the service.

It comes after a successful trial in other areas.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that click and collect will be available at two stores in the city – branches at Airport Retail Park and Shultern Lane.

What’s more, it is on offer at stores in Nuneaton, Coleshill, Leamington Spa, Rugby and Bedworth in Warwickshire.

Essentially, customers will be able to pick and choose what they want online, before heading to the store to pick it up, ready packed.

But how does it work, and what else do you need to know?

Everything you need to know

How much does it cost? All items cost the same in-store and online. The cost of using the service is £4.99.

How much can you order? There is no minimum or maximum in terms of how much you can order. Of course, this does not apply to items such as painkillers, which have a restricted purchase amount no matter where you buy from.

Do you have to pay for the bags? At this time, there is no extra charge for the shopping bags. Items will be bagged in biodegradable bags.

What time slots are available? The available time slots will be shown online at the time of booking. Different stores will have different availability.

When can you book? Slots will be available from the next day onwards. Subject to availability, you can book up to a week in advance.

How are items chosen? Once an order has been made, Aldi staff will pick the freshest items available on the shelves.

How can you collect your order? Once an order has been made, customers will receive an SMS confirmation. On arrival, customers need to be at a collection point, before replying to the SMS with their collection point number. From here, staff will bring your order to you.

What has been said about the scheme?

Giles Hurley, Chief Executive Officer, Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “Aldi’s quality products and unbeatable prices have never been so in demand.

“Extending this trial is about providing thousands more of our existing customers with another convenient way to shop with us, while also making Aldi accessible for many others who may not have shopped with us before.”
