Rising Coventry City star Jonny Ngandu has joined Icelandic club Keflavík on loan, according to reports.
The 18-year-old winger/attacking midfielder has missed a chunk of the Sky Blues pre-season through illness but returned to action on Tuesday this week when he marked his come-back with a goal in the 3-1 win against Southampton Under-23s.
And Fotbolti.net claim the teenager has hooked up with Keflavík who are currently in “a hard fight to get out of the Lengjudeild,” albeit the team is currently in second place with 24 points.
Ngandu has been highly rated at City as he has risen through the Academy.
At only 16 years of age he was the youngest member of the Under-23s side.
He signed his Under-18s deal at the end of last season and after a string of impressive performances Ngandu has featured heavily for the development squad side.
The young forward caught the eye in 2018/19 season, so much so that Manchester United were understood to be monitoring his progress.
He earned his senior debut in the EFL Trophy against Cheltenham Town in November 2018 but he had a bit of a plateau year last term, not always making the Under-23s.
He looked at one stage like he was going to be the next big thing and hopes are high that he will kick on again.
