Coventry City legend Steve Ogrizovic has high hopes for Will Bapaga after another eye catching display from the teenager.

The former Sky Blues goalkeeper and coach saw the forward deliver another solid pre-season performance, this time against Peterborough United on Saturday.

“He looks an exciting player, I’ve got to say. I was impressed with him at Swindon a few weeks ago,” he told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

“I was impressed with him this afternoon. He’s very easy on the eye.

“He’s got good balance, he’s quick, he glides by players. He cuts in left or right and I think he’s got an eye for goal.

“We’ll see that as his career progresses. I’ll tell you, he might not be far off pushing for a starting place this season the way that he’s progressing.”

Coventry were winners in both parts of their pre-season double-header against the League One side.

Goals from Matty Godden, Callum O’Hare, a double from Amadou Bakayoko and a stunning solo effort from Jodi Jones helped Mark Robins’ side to their third and then fourth victory on the bounce.

Bapaga, 17, impressed in game two of the afternoon. Both were won by City with an aggregate score of 5-3.

He only made four appearances for Coventry last term but is being tipped as having the potential to breakthrough increasingly soon.
