Two men from Coventry were arrested following a police chase in which a police vehicle was ‘rammed’.
A grey BMW initially stopped for police but then sped off as an officer approached.
As it fled, it hit a police vehicle cauing minor damage.
The car was eventually stopped after a chase and two men from Coventry were arrested.
The chase took place through Shepshed, Leicestershire, on Sunday reports LeicestershireLive.
Inspector Mark Botte, commander of the Charnwood police team, posted on Twitter about the incident.
He tweeted: “Road Policing Unit / Specialist Support Department active around Charnwood, cracking arrest of two males who rammed a police car and made off. This work often goes unseen, top result and thank you.”
A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: “Two men have been arrested after a vehicle failed to stop for officers on Sunday afternoon (11 October).
“The vehicle, a grey BMW, initially stopped for officers but drove off when an officer approached the vehicle. The offending vehicle caused minor damage to the police vehicle as it was struck when the BMW made off.
“A police pursuit was authorised and the BMW was brought to a stop by police in Iveshead Road, Shepshed
“A 24-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, drug driving and possession with intent to supply class A drugs .
“A 25-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
“Both have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
