More than 1000 properties are without electricity this morning due to a power cut (April 7).

It’s affecting 1169 homes in the CV3 area according to Western Power Distribution (WPD).

It’s hoped the incident will be resolved by 8am.

The power cut was first reported at 6.30am, and WPD said supplies would be restored by 7.15am.

However this has since been pushed back an hour to 8am, according to their website.

It’s been described as a Low Voltage incident, which WPD describe as: “These incidents tend to be smaller, more localised and could be why some of your neighbours still have power.”

WPD has apologised to those affected.

In a tweet a spokesperson said: “Apologies for the #powercut in #Coventry #CV3 & surrounding areas. Our engineers are working on the issue and aim to restore all supplies by 07:15. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

It is currently unknown what has caused the power cut.
