Coventry City manager Mark Robins has his fingers crossed that wing-back Fankaty Dabo will not be out too long. 

Dabo missed the Sky Blues’ 2-0 defeat at Brentford on Saturday in which Ivan Toney scored both goals in the second half.  

Asked about Dabo’s absence, Robins said: “Fanky was injured and his wife was expecting today, so that was the reason for him not being involved.



Sam McCallum feels promoted Coventry City just need time to adjust to the Championship.

The 20-year-old defender was speaking after the Sky Blues’ 2-0 defeat at Brentford on Saturday.

Ivan Toney scored both of Brentford’s goals in the second half.

McCallum came off the bench after an hour of the contest.

Coventry City manager Mark Robins was left frustrated after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Brentford.

The Sky Blues boss is convinced his players have not yet got to grips with the pace of the Champioship, largely down to lacking the belief they had in abundance in League One last season.

But the City boss remains confident that his work-in-progress players will reach the required levels to compete in the second tier.

An early second half brace from Ivan Toney saw Coventry City slip to their third Championship defeat of the season at promotion hopefuls Brentford.

The Sky Blues were on the back foot for much of a testing first half at the brand new Brentford Community Stadium where the home side got at them from the first whistle – testing Marko Marosi with barely 30 seconds on the clock.

Although Mark Robins’s men managed to keep a clean sheet to the break, the Bees’ star striker struck twice in quick success from the restart to pretty much put the game beyond City’s reach.
