Grinch-like vandals have stolen and trashed decorations in two areas of Nuneaton.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Neighbourhood Watch members have reported a number of incidents in the Whitestone and Bulkington areas of town.

They say initially they were contacted about decorations being stolen but have issued another warning as there are now reports of festive lights being vandalised.

In the most recent incident, lights were cut from the power supply rendering them useless.

They have asked people to be on their guard.

“Following a recent spate of thefts of garden ornaments , thieves have now turned their attention to Christmas lights and decorations in the Bulkington and Whitestone areas,” the Facebook post from the neighbourhood watch team reads.

Lights at this home were cut during a vandalism attack

“The thefts have occurred on the stretch of road adjoining the two areas, Bulkington Lane and Nuneaton Road, and may be related.

“In the most recent incident, lights were cut from the power supply, rendering them useless and suggesting it may be vandalism rather than theft.”

They have urged people with any information to call Warwickshire Police on 101.

Details can also be passed on to police by calling the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
