A man has been charged with drug dealing offences after plain-clothed police arrested a number of men in Stratford. Patrick Green, 40, of Whateley Road, Birmingham, was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine, and possession of cannabis.

Green will appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court today. A second man, 43, and of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He was later released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The police say they stopped and searched a number of men following a targeted drug patrol, involving officers from Proactive CID, in Welcombe Hill Park yesterday (May 9) afternoon. Officers say quantities of suspected heroin, cocaine and cannabis were seized.
