Mark Robins has recalled Michael Rose to his Coventry City side to replace the suspended Kyle McFadzean against bottom of the league Wycombe Wanderers.

The centre-half sat out Tuesday night’s trip to Luton Town with a sore groin – a night when fellow central defender McFadzean was sent off for handball in the box and resulting in a two match suspension, having already received a red card earlier in the season – but returns to make up the back three as the Sky Blues stick with a wing-back system against the Chairboys.

Rose is expected to slot in on the right with Leo Ostigard switching across to take up McFadzean’s central role with Dom Hyam to his left.

Fankaty Dabo and Sam McCallum continue to operate in the wing-back positions while the midfield stays the same from the midweek loss, with skipper Liam Kelly at the base of a diamond that sees Gus Hamer and Matty James deployed a little further forward to the right and left, respectively, and Callum O’Hare at the tip behind lone striker Max Biamou.

Ben Wilson continues in goal ahead of Marko Marosi and the bench remains the same as in midweek with Matty Godden, Tyler Walker and Viktor Gyokeres providing striking options.

City: Ben Wilson; Michael Rose, Leo Ostigard, Dom Hyam; Fankaty Dabo, Gus Hamer, Matty James, Liam Kelly, Sam McCallum; Callum O’Hare: Max Biamou.

Subs: Marko Marosi (GK), Julien Dacosta, Jamie Allen, Viktor Gyokeres, Jordan Shipley, Tyler Walker, Ben Sheaf, Josh Pask, Matty Godden.
