The big wheel and Christmas markets open in Broadgate this Saturday, 18 November.
Both the market and big wheel will be open from 11am – 10pm daily until Sunday 7 January 2024 (except Christmas day).
Tickets for the big wheel can be purchased on the day or they can be booked online in advance to get 15% off.
Coventry’s beautiful skyline can be viewed from the top of the 35m high wheel, with the three spires being lit up in the evening.
Cllr Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events said: “Our fantastic city centre Christmas offer opens this weekend, and I can’t wait to see Broadgate transformed into a spectacular winter wonderland.
“Alongside the big wheel, there will be 22 market stalls selling a range of festive food, drink and gifts for residents of the city and visitors from further afield to enjoy.”
Cllr Patricia Hetherton, Cabinet Member for City Services, added: “The Christmas lights have now been switched on after already being used this year for both Diwali and Armistice Day and the city centre is feeling as festive as ever. But it doesn’t stop there, we have even more magic coming in the form of a huge wheel and a Christmas market this Saturday.
“To add to that, we have late night shopping and free parking starting this month too. We are bringing back the free after 3pm parking offer in Council run city centre car parks on late night Wednesdays.
“It can be an expensive time for people so hopefully this helps a little bit and means people can come and enjoy the lights and other festivities without paying for the cost of parking.”
Late night shopping will start on Wednesday 29 November. Coventry City Council will be offering free parking for entry after 3pm on the following dates in Council run, city centre car parks:
