A popular Coventry hotel venue is set to fully reopen next week, and is set to offer a series of events to welcome customers back.

Coombe Abbey is currently offering outdoor dining to customers, but, from May 17, its doors are fully reopening, in line with current government guidelines.

Once open, the venue is offering a series of events, that those in charge of the venue say will form part of “a spectacular comeback”.

The programme of events start in late June, with a Medieval Banquet – with a number of further banquet events taking place over the coming months.

According to an event description, “Lordes and Ladyes will enjoy a hearty feast fit for a king and queen that will include a delicious four-course meal, an arrival drink of mead cocktail, beakers of wine and ale with your meal, a full stage show and a post-banquet disco.”

Over the summer, Coombe Abbey has also announced that their outdoor cinema will be returning, with classic films such as Pretty Woman, The Jungle Book and Mamma Mia being screened in July.

However, it has been confirmed that Mamma Mia has already sold out, while tickets for the others remain on sale at this time.

What else is taking place at Coombe Abbey?

In the Autumn, popular musical act The D-Day Darlings will be making their return to the hotel, hosting “Afternoon Tea With The D-Day Darlings” on November 14.

Before then, there are Queen and George Michael tribute nights scheduled, along with the return of clairvoyant medium Steve Holbrook.

On October 24, Steve is set to host his Between Two Worlds show.

Other events set to follow include the Gavin and Stacey dining experience, Speakeasy Blinders, and murder mystery experiences.

Tickets are currently available for all of the above events, which will go ahead subject to government advice at the time of each event.

What has been said about the event programme?

Ron Terry, operations director of Coombe Abbey Park Ltd, said: “It is extremely exciting to think that, all being well, we will be hosting events and bringing Coombe Abbey back to life with the sound of excellent entertainment.

“The hotel has been closed for months because of Covid-19 restrictions, so we are very much looking forward to seeing visitors once again.

“There is some absolutely fantastic entertainment to suit all tastes and it will be a great opportunity to get together with friends and have some fun again.”
