Plans have been submitted for a new beer and wine bar in Coventry.
If approved, the new establishment would set up shop at 42 Earlsdon Street, in the Earlsdon area of the city.
The building was most recently in use as the Cards, Balloons ‘n Things shop.
According to the proposal, the premises would be converted from class A1 for retail to A4 for use as a drinking establishment.
The documents submitted to the council describe it as “a craft beer and organic wine bar/lounge”.
Documents show that the establishment would open from noon to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and noon to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Plans show that the new business would only take up the ground floor of the premises, and though there is no space for parking the applicant said “it is not expected that customers would arrive by car”.
If given permission, four full time staff members would be needed as well as three part time.
It is not known who the applicant is, though the plans have been submitted by agents Worcester Planning Consultancy on behalf of the applicant.
The planning application can be viewed and commented upon on the Coventry City Council’s planning portal.
A decision is expected to be made by planning officers by November 20.
