Supermarket giant, Aldi has set up new proposals for a store in Southam and are asking the public for their opinions.
The store, if successful, we be located off the A423, next to Galanos House, and would be the second large supermarket in the town, alongside Tesco.
A planning application for the shop is still yet to be submitted as Aldi are still asking local residents for their opinion on the build.
Aldi say they believe a new store would improve Southam and add to the range of shopping in the area.
It would mean that Aldi customers would not have to take their usual 15-20 minute drive into Leamington to complete their shopping.
On its website Aldi says: “The proposals would see a new, modern food store development to serve Southam to improve the range and quality of shopping provision within the local area, providing the local community with access to Aldi’s high-quality offer and award-winning low prices.
“The proposed Aldi store will deliver a 1,315 sq.m net foodstore, with associated parking and high-quality landscaping.
“The proposal would introduce a brand-new discount store to Southam reducing the need for customers to travel to other stores, such as Leamington Spa, to complete their grocery shopping.
“The proposals are at an early stage and no planning application has been submitted to Stratford-on-Avon District Council at this stage. Aldi would like to hear your views about our ambitions for a new store in Southam.”
