Over 500 violent and sexual crimes were reported across Nuneaton and Bedworth in a single month.

Police across the borough had plenty to do in July – the latest available figures – with serious crimes happening at a rate of 16 a day, with 505 recorded offences in total.

They were split between the two towns with 365 reported in Nuneaton and 140 in Bedworth, as well as Exhall and Bulkington.

The individual areas with the most reported crimes were Charles Eaton Road on Bedworth’s Woodlands estate and Pool Bank Street near Nuneaton town centre, with seven each.

The statistics come from the the police.uk website with violent offences categorised as varying from murder and grievous bodily harm to possession of an offensive weapon, while sex offences include rape and indecent assaults.

The crime mapping section on police.uk allows you to see precisely what’s been happening in your neighbourhood.

The latest available data shows where crimes have been committed and what type of offence it was.

Some even give a description of the crime as well as an update on what stage the police investigation is at – whether someone has been charged, appeared in court or if the investigation has stalled.
