Police are currently at the scene of a serious crash in Coventry.
The incident has happened on Kenilworth Road.
As a result the road is closed between Beechwood Avenue and Coat of Arms Bridge Road.
At present Coventry Police are asking other motorists and members of the public to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
According to traffic monitoring system Inrix the road has been closed in both directions since 6.30pm.
Coventry Police tweeted the following at 9pm: “We’re currently dealing with a serious collision on the Kenilworth Road, Coventry.
“The road is closed between Beechwood Avenue and Coat of Arms Bridge Road. Please avoid the area – use alternative routes where possible.”
At this time it is not known if anyone has been injured or if they have the extent of the injuries.
National Express Coventry has listed a diversion route for anyone expecting to use their services tonight.
Diversion for services 10A and 12X due to an incident on Kenilworth Rd:
- Outbound: Warwick Rd, Leamington Rd, A45 Kenpas Highway, Kenilworth Rd back to normal line of route.
- Inbound: reverse of above.
