Coventry City Council is delighted to announce that E.ON Next is the new major sponsor of Godiva Festival.

E.ON, which has been based in the city for nearly 30 years, recently entered into a pioneering 15-year partnership with Coventry City Council to revolutionise energy use in the city to benefit residents and communities as well as the wider economy.

Godiva Festival has been a staple event in the city’s cultural and events calendar and this year will be the 25th time Coventry City Council hosts the event. It attracts thousands of people from across the country and artists from all over the world. This year the festival will take place from 5– 7 July in War Memorial Park, Coventry.

E.ON Next, the customer-facing arm of E.ON, brings a wealth of support and resources to Godiva Festival. As major sponsor, E.ON Next’s commitment will not only enhance the festival experience but also contribute to its sustainability and growth. The partnership signifies a shared vision for community engagement, cultural enrichment and environmental improvements.

Godiva Festival recently received the Greener Festival Improvers Certification 2023 and is the only UK festival that was nominated for the ‘Greener Transport Award’, both by A Greener Future.

Andy Williams, Director of Regeneration and Economy, said: “We are delighted to be working with E.ON Next as our major sponsor for the 25th Godiva Festival.

“E.ON’s commitment to Coventry and community engagement resonates with our values and aspirations as we embark on our eco-friendly festival journey.

“Over the past year, sustainability has played a pivotal role in Godiva Festival and has been evidenced by our recent accreditation. We are ready to deliver an unforgettable event, providing memorable experiences for attendees of all ages.”

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, said: “We are excited to put our energy into the Godiva Festival, harnessing the spirit of Coventry and bringing our positive energy to everyone who attends this iconic event.

“Coventry has been our home for three decades and our support for the Godiva Festival is the latest way in which we are supporting the city. We are committed to making new energy work for everyone, including the thousands of customers and colleagues who live and work in Coventry. That’s why we are embarking on a 15-year strategic partnership with the council to help make Coventry cleaner, fairer and more sustainable while also driving green jobs and skills for future generations.“
