A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a serious assault at a house party in Witherley.

The teenager was arrested last night (September 29) in connection with the incident in Hunts Lane which left the young victim in a critical condition in hospital.

The teen been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

It is the fourth arrest made in connection with the case.

As we reported in our newsletter, Jay White,  aged 18 of Croft Road, Nuneaton, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court after he was charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm.

He was bailed pending an appearance at Leicester Crown Court on November 2.

Two other people, a 17-year-old teen and a 21-year-old man, who were also arrested in connection with this incident were released with no further action.

Remains critical

The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital according to Leicestershire Police.

He was taken to University Hospital  Coventry and Warwickshire after being anaesthetised at the scene by a doctor from the air ambulance team that also rushed to the scene.

Medics and police were called to the property late on Friday night (September 25).

Investigations are ongoing and officers continue to appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.

Officers want to hear from anyone who knows about the events leading up to the attack or those who may have footage of the attack recorded on their phones.
