For years it has been a festive pilgrimage for thousands of Coventry and Warwickshire residents.
The Frankfurt German Christmas Market by now would be in full swing in the heart of Birmingham with customers drinking steins of beer, mulled wine or tucking into some bratwurst sausage.
But, of course, this is no ordinary year. The global pandemic has changed life as we know it and Christmas will be totally different as we adapt to the ‘new normal’.
One quick-thinking Nuneaton-based company has acted to try and bridge the gap that has been left in peoples’ festive calendar.
Basically it’s a box of all the foods, textures and flavours you would normally enjoy in the outdoor environment of a German market, but contained within a box!
What does it contain?
Sadly, it doesn’t contain any alcohol but you can always add that yourself (and not at those German market prices!).
So each box has in it the following: Bratwurst sausage, secret recipe curry sauce, frikadellen (seasoned meat patties), stroop waffle, gingerbread treats, snow capped pancake and Nutella stack, pizza stuffed pretsels, apple strudel and chocolate coated fruit kebabs.
How much does it cost and how do I get one?
A grazing box for one person costs £12.50 and for two it is £22.50. You can place orders via their website: www.grazeful.net
What they have to say…
“Inspired by the German market experience. Pour yourself a Steiner or gluhwein and tuck into these treats. Our Christmas traditions aren’t cancelled this year. Let the festivities begin!”
