A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed as investigations into a stabbing in Nuneaton town centre continue.
Warwickshire Police confirmed a 38-year-old man from South Croydon who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary has been released on bail until next month.
A second person, a 26-year-old woman from Nuneaton, who was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary has also been released on bail.
Both were arrested in connection with a stabbing in Nuneaton town centre on Bank Holiday Monday, as we reported in our newsletter,
Emergency services were called to an alleyway off Queens Road on Monday (August 31) after reports of an altercation.
A huge part of the town centre was cordoned off with police officers standing guard and turning pedestrians and vehicles away.
The victim suffered a stab injury to his back and was taken to hospital for treatment.
He is reported to be in a stable condition, and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing but we’re keen for anyone who saw the incident, or who was in the area at the time to contact us,” said a Warwickshire Police spokesperson.
