One of the most celebrated trains in Britain will be calling into Nuneaton as part of a special trip to Scotland.

The Statesman is set to stop off at the Trent Valley Station in March next year.

It is part of a three-day weekend break to the Highlands of Scotland.

Departing at Milton Keynes, it will stop at Rugby, then Nuneaton and onto Tamworth, Lichfield, Stafford, Crewe, Warrington Bank Quay, Wigan North Western and Preston before the three-day weekend break along the entire length of the world famous West Highland line.

The trip will start on Saturday, March 20 2021.

Those who cannot make it on the trip but would like to see the train should note it is due to arrive at Nuneaton at 7.30am on March 21 and then return at 10pm on Monday, March 22.
