A 200-strong party where students in Coventry were filmed jumping on tables as they danced has divided opinion in the city.
CoventryLive readers have have had their say after the video emerged on social media yesterday, showing hundreds of young people crowded together and dancing to a grime song.
It clearly shows people breaking the new ‘rule of six’ which was introduced by the government to help tackle the spread of coronavirus.
And while many readers were angry about the blatant lack of social distancing, others encouraged them to enjoy themselves while they are young.
But what did our readers think about the party?

What you had to say…
Elizabeth Ali: “Enjoy your life your young.”
Kate Cartwright: “Kick them off their courses. They have no consideration for others. Selfish idiots.”
Phil Smith: “Issue fines. They won’t have the money to buy Jaeger then.”
June Ellis: “You are only young once. Make the most of it.”
Pete Clarke: “Enjoy yourselves. Then get ill. Then pass it on to everyone.”
Dave Lawton: “It’s all very well them enjoying themselves just a shame the people they infect won’t have the same choice. Fine them and isolate for 2 weeks.”
John Darlison: “Throw them out uni simple.”
Yvonne Cunningham Watkins: “It’s not just coventry uni it’s happening at other university as well.”
Chris Ramsbottom Pampling: “Send the kids home, there is very little point in them being at university. After all if they have to do things online they could be anywhere with an internet connection!”
Alan Pollard: “Automatic expulsion from the university and 5 grand fine that would sort out the problem.”
Gary Lincoln: “ For people who say this is okay. Watch the video. They look like animals in a zoo.”
Carol Gallard: “These students don’t deserve to be at uni. They are pushing to get home for Christmas. They dont care about their loved ones either. Kick em out of uni, fine them. They need to learn not to be selfish.”
Win James: “Certainly won’t be setting foot in Coventry for shopping or dining in the near future!”
Jenny Edmonds: “Why did they send them back? We have students in lockdown in shared accommodation, talk of keeping them there at Christmas etc. Where at all possible, why aren’t they distance learning, I feel like this decision was made more for landlords than health.”
Clare Hathaway-Bird: “ I feel sorry for them but really, they are contributing to spoiling day to day life for everyone in Coventry. Do they not realise that the infection rate has more than doubled in the last fortnight and if it gets any higher, we will be in local lockdown.”
Mel Jones: “Fine them you would if it was anyone else.”
Elaine Guzenda: “ How do they think the rest of us feel if we have to stay at home at Christmas and can’t see our families . We deserve a life as well. They are selfish, need to take responsibility for themselves and grow up. We could all be in the same boat if this continues.”
Paul Paul: “Follow the rules or kicked out of Uni. Simple!”
